1. Why is my speech recorded?
We believe that the ability to watch recordings of ourselves as we appear during the delivery of a speech is an important part of improving our public speaking skills.
2. How will my speech be recorded and stored?
At each meeting the videographer will record the prepared speeches along with the evaluation of the speech using the Toast of CIBC club video camcorder. The video clips will be archived in the club's video library.
3. What if I don't want my speech recorded?
If the speaker prefers not to have the speech recorded, she/he should contact the videographer beforehand. The videographer is a meeting role listed in our Current Meeting Schedule page on the web site.
4. How is the video stored?
The speech video and evaluation video will be burned to DVDs in a batch processing by SAA assistant or designated club officials once per month. The DVDs will be kept in the club library.
5. How can I get my speech video?
There are 2 ways for you to get the video (AVI format file) of the speech and evaluation.
o You can provide SAA assistant with a USB drive or memory card with at least 512MB capacity to have the speech copied on it and handed back to you in the next meeting.
o After the monthly archiving process, you can borrow the video DVD and copy the files over to your own computer and return the DVD to the library afterwards.
